About Diamond Head
Diamond Head is one of the more established condo communities in Stevenson Ranch, with nearly 600 homes spread throughout a thoughtfully designed layout. Despite its size, the neighborhood maintains a quiet, residential feel with traditional landscaping, tree-lined streets, and an abundance of green space.
There are two convenient un-gated access points into the community, both from Steinbeck Avenue. As you enter, you’ll immediately notice the well-developed setting, with walking paths and greenery throughout that give the neighborhood a peaceful, tucked-away feel.
With decades of growth, the landscaping here provides a level of shade and natural surroundings that’s hard to find in newer developments, creating a softer, more comfortable environment.
Its central location within Stevenson Ranch also makes it a convenient place to live, with easy access to nearby schools, parks, shopping, dining, and the 5 freeway for commuters.
Home Descriptions
Homes in Diamond Head are classified as condominiums on title, but are designed in a townhome-style layout, with two-story floorplans and no neighbors above or below.
Most homes range from approximately 963 to 1,459 square feet and typically feature two or three bedrooms, at least two bathrooms, attached two-car garages, and in most cases, a private patio, balcony, or both. Laundry hookups are included in every unit, with locations varying by floorplan—either inside the home in a dedicated closet or, in some of the smaller units, inside the garage.
While the homes reflect a more traditional design, many interiors have been updated over the years with modern finishes. This creates a mix of move-in-ready properties and opportunities for buyers who may want to personalize a space to their own taste.

Recreational Amenities
All residents in Diamond Head enjoy access to a relaxing recreation area, which includes a swimming pool, kiddie pool, spa, covered lounge areas, and restrooms.
There are also two separate tot lot play areas, each with its own adjacent greenbelt—giving kids space to play at different ends of the community.
Guest parking is somewhat limited, which is typical for communities like this, but additional street parking is available along Steinbeck Avenue.
As for monthly costs, there are HOA fees, but there is no Mello Roos, which can help keep overall expenses more predictable. In many cases, the HOA covers exterior building maintenance and may also include additional services such as water, trash, pest control, or even security. Coverage can vary, so it’s always a good idea to confirm what’s included for a specific property..
Schools and Local Conveniences
Residents of Diamond Head are served by well-regarded local schools, including West Ranch High School and Rancho Pico Junior High, along with two nearby elementary schools—Stevenson Ranch Elementary and Pico Canyon Elementary. Both elementary schools are located within the Stevenson Ranch community, under 1.5 miles away.
Nearby Parks
Stevenson Ranch is home to several local parks, all located within roughly a mile to a mile and a half from Diamond Head.
- Richard Rioux Park is a local favorite! It’s a large park featuring tennis and basketball courts, a baseball field, playgrounds, walking paths, and shaded picnic areas.
- Jake Kuredjian Park, located next to Pico Canyon Elementary, offers open grassy space and trails that are great for a casual walk. Sits right next to Pico Canyon Elementary.
- Pico Canyon Park provides access to scenic hillside trails, along with a popular stair climb for those looking to get in a quick workout.
- There is a small neighborhood park within walking distance of Diamond Head, situated at the end of Steinbeck Ave.
Local Conveniences
Diamond Head is conveniently located within walking distance from Stevenson Ranch Plaza, making it easy to access everyday shopping, dining, and services. In addition, a wider variety of retail and restaurant options can be found just a short drive away, within about a mile to the east.
