About Hasley Canyon
Hasley Canyon in Castaic, CA offers a unique blend of rural living and everyday convenience. Located just west of Interstate 5, the area is known for its ranch-style homes, large lots, and wide-open space—appealing to buyers seeking privacy and a quieter pace of life while still remaining close to Santa Clarita.
With the exception of Williams Ranch, Hasley Estates, and the Hasley Canyon Mobile Home Park, the community is made up primarily of custom homes on acreage, many zoned for horses. Barns, stables, corrals, and other outbuildings are common throughout the canyon.
Home styles range from modest residences to expansive custom estates, with most built between the 1970s and mid-2000s, along with a handful of much older homes. In fact, while browsing some past listings, we noted one home was built in 1922.
Surrounded by rolling hills and mountain views, Hasley Canyon offers a scenic setting that changes with the seasons. While the area feels tucked away, it’s still just a short drive to Interstate 5 for shopping, dining, and everyday conveniences.
This is true country living, and with that comes a few key differences. Many homes rely on septic systems and propane, and many roads are privately maintained. The area is also considered a higher fire risk zone, with homeowners typically maintaining defensible space, and Fire Station 143 located nearby. Wildlife is part of the natural environment.
Hasley Canyon appeals to those looking for flexibility and fewer restrictions—especially buyers interested in ranch, equestrian, or acreage properties in a more private setting.

Homes in Hasley Canyon
Homes in Hasley Canyon are primarily custom-built, and no two are exactly alike. Most are situated on large lots—often an acre or more—with some properties spanning multiple acres, offering plenty of space and privacy.
Many properties are well-suited for a variety of uses, including RV parking, workshops, and equestrian setups. Long driveways, gated entries, and additional structures such as detached garages, barns, and utility buildings are common.
In fact, we’ve sold homes here in the past where homeowners have utilized their properties for special events, such as weddings and receptions.
Interior features can vary widely. Some homes have been updated with modern finishes and open floor plans, while others retain a more traditional or rustic feel—giving buyers the flexibility to find something move-in ready or customize over time.
Large single-story homes are common, along with even larger multi-level residences. Because most were custom built, floor plans and layouts can vary quite a bit.
Interior finishes can also differ significantly, often reflecting the personal style of the previous owner. As a result, some buyers may choose to update or customize the home to better suit their own preferences.
Vacant land parcels do occasionally become available, offering additional flexibility for buyers interested in building a custom home in a private, rural setting.
