Here’s a quick preview of Sage at Sand Canyon, a brand new housing neighborhood now under construction in the Sand Canyon area of Santa Clarita. Built by Lennar, Sage is located just off Sand Canyon Road, north of the 14 Freeway, within the new Sand Canyon Village development and joins a growing list of newer neighborhoods throughout Canyon Country.

It’s worth noting, there are a few other SCV neighborhoods called “Sage”. To help avoid confusion, this guide specifically covers Sage at Sand Canyon. Scroll down to watch the video tour, view photos, and find links to additional new housing neighborhoods and communities throughout Santa Clarita.

About Sage at Sand Canyon

Sage at Sand Canyon is planned as a modern new housing neighborhood featuring a mix of paired and detached homes within the Sand Canyon Village development of Canyon Country. According to current builder plans, the neighborhood is expected to include approximately 118 paired homes and 16 detached homes arranged across two separate sections of the community.

The larger portion of Sage is positioned along a slightly elevated hillside area, while a smaller section is located just below it. During our recent visit, the model homes were nearing completion and additional homes were already under construction throughout the neighborhood.

The surrounding Sand Canyon Village area has also seen major infrastructure improvements including new roundabouts, sidewalks, trails, and nearby shopping conveniences designed to support the growing community.

Home Descriptions

Homes at Sage at Sand Canyon are expected to range from around 1,800 to nearly 2,500 square feet with modern three-story floorplans designed for contemporary living. Current plans include a combination of paired and detached homes with three- and four-bedroom layouts offering approximately 2.5 to 3.5 bathrooms.

The homes appear similar in overall style and design to several newer Lennar neighborhoods recently built in FivePoint Valencia, featuring modern architecture, attached garages, and open-concept living spaces. Many floorplans are also expected to include flexible living areas, elevated main living levels, and outdoor deck spaces consistent with newer Lennar home designs throughout Santa Clarita.

Because Sage features primarily modern three-story homes, the neighborhood may not appeal to every buyer. If you prefer a more traditional two-story home design with larger backyards, you may also want to explore nearby Pelona Hills, located just next door within the Sand Canyon Village development.

Outdoor Enjoyment

It’s still a bit too soon to share of the neighborhood amenities, but for now we see some of the main streets and sidewalks are complete. There are also developed trails along Sand Canyon Road and plenty of lovely mountain views.

Just outside the neighborhood there’s Oak Spring Canyon Park which is located about a mile away. The park is a local favorite and includes plenty of green space, playgrounds, developed trails and areas to relax or get a little fresh air, giving locals convenient options for outdoor activities.


Schools and Local Conveniences

Several schools are located nearby, including Mitchell Community Elementary School for elementary grades, along with Sierra Vista Junior High and Canyon High School for secondary education. These schools are part of the Sulphur Springs School District and the William S. Hart Union High School District, which serve much of the surrounding area.

For convenience shopping and dining, it’s less than a half mile to the new Sand Canyon Village Shopping Center, located at the base of the community. There’s also the Vons shopping center that has been around for years for years.

Public Transportation
There’s a nearby bus stop and it’s less than 2 miles to the Metro-link.
