Listings of Homes For Sale In Saugus, CA
Where is Saugus?
Saugus is located within Santa Clarita but it can be a bit confusing when doing a search in Google Maps. Saugus is situated along both sides of Bouquet Canyon, North of Newhall Ranch Road and east of Seco Canyon Road. It also stretches toward the east, running along Plum Canyon toward Canyon Country.
When doing an address lookup for Saugus, Google maps may automatically show it as Santa Clarita. The same holds true for parts of Valencia and Canyon Country.
General Home Types
Like most Santa Clarita communities, buyers have their choice of single family homes, including plenty of the traditional 3 bedroom 2 bathroom single story houses with attached garages. There are also a good number of condos. Of course, there are larger, 2 story four and five bedroom homes. Buyers might even find that elusive single story with a 4th bedroom.
Newer homes can be found in Five Knolls, Skyline and the Toll Brothers neighborhoods in Plum Canyon. The homes located up in Bouquet Canyon are quite interesting. Many are custom ranch style homes on land with room for horses and such. In fact, if looking for a ranch style home in the Saugus area try looking up around Bouquet Canyon, near Vasquez Canyon.

Peace & Quiet
Those searching homes for sale in Saugus are sometimes surprised at the neighborhoods located off the main drags offering peace and quiet. There are some beautiful, panoramic views from within some of the Saugus neighborhoods.
If this sounds interesting try driving up Bouquet Canyon north from the Central Park area. Most neighborhoods will be off to the left. Then, go right on Plum Canyon and find many lovely, partially secluded neighborhoods in the Plum Canyon Community. Keep going to Plum Canyon to end up at the new developments of Skyline.
Schools and Local Conveniences
The schools in Saugus include Saugus high school and Arroyo Seco Junior High. There are also a number of grade schools and often easily accessible on foot. If planning to buy a Saugus home so your child can attend a specific school, verify with the local school district on the boundaries. The boundaries can be a bit of a moving target, especially as the new developments finish up. See the William S Hart Boundary Map!
Generally, there’s plenty of local convenience shopping here but it depends on the neighborhood. Many are a 2 or 3 miles from shopping and others is within walking distance. As we always suggest, if planning to buy a home in Saugus, get off the internet and drive through the areas of interest. Talk to the locals and find out where they shop and ask about the local schools. What we read and see online really does not give us a reliable feel of the homes and neighborhoods.
There are many lovely neighborhood & city parks here in Saugus but the grand daddy of them all is Central Park. It’s huge park that comes with acres of greenbelt fields with developed pathways circling the park and a wonderful fenced in dog run. There’s also a community garden, perfect for those living in apartments or condos with no room to grow your own. During the summer months Central Park hosts the Concert in the Parks series. This a huge event, tons of fun and draws a crowd from throughout all of Santa Clarita.
